Yay free time

I don't have enough time or energy to begin fully catching you guys up yet but here's what I did today (Saturday)

At 12:30 I was woken up to go berry picking with my family

Here is my 11-year-old brother, Jan. He likes Pokemon and the Simpsons and we get along great:

Mama picking berries:

Here's what I picked:

All the berries we picked that weren't eaten right away. The strawberries here are AMAZING.

After berry picking we made jam and then had lunch. After lunch everyone had a bowl of strawberries with whipped cream and shaved chocolate. It was wonderful.

Later we met with Julia and Miranda so Miranda and I could get spaghetti ice cream and explore town while Alina and Julia worked on a school project. I got "Spaghetti Nero" which is chocolate ice cream fed through a pasta maker topped with strawberry and raspberry sauce and sugar coated nuts to look like meatballs. If I liked sweet things or raspberries more it would have been better but the ice cream itself was really good and there was more whipped cream hiding underneath it.

We also didn't have to pay for our ice cream because Julia's brother works at Eis Cafe Margarita where we ate. When we were getting our money together he told us that it was on him, to go explore the shops, and come back to him if we had any questions. What an awesome host brother.
Every couple of meters in the shopping district there were little things for children to play on and it was just wonderful overall. I could live here forever. Everyone is so nice!

Oh, last night for the Euro Cup, my friends and I went to the public viewing with our Germans but everyone there was already drunk and there were bottles everywhere before the game even started. To get away from them we actually went to a bar of all places. It was nice and quiet except for when an goal was scored and I was able to have my first beer.I ordered a dark beer and they brought out a half liter glass. The video is here but it's nothing special. Just me documenting my first sip:

I think that's all for today. Goodnight!

The 28-year-old in the silly hat is being trusted with my life and the lives of 11 of my friends for the next 3 weeks.
Anyway, it's 2:30 a.m. here and I should be sleeping but I'm finding very little time to be on here. I've taken lots of pictures and some videos but I don't know what to do with all of them yet. I'm probably going to go out of order with events and pictures but I'll try to let you know the sequence. You wanted the itinerary and I've been too lazy to type it up so here's pictures of the papers and hopefully you can read them.

Also, tomorrow after we visit Hamburg, we will go back to Hanover to see the public viewing of the Euro Cup. They'll have a giant screen outside and hundreds of people will come to watch. I'll try to pop into a bar for a little bit for Gena but I'm not sure if I'll be able to.

Yesterday I had my first day if German school. They found my clothes to be very strange which I found funny. I dressed nice for them and wore this

Anyway, my host mother just came in and seemed very surprised to find me awake so I should probably go to bed. Goodnight.

Goodbye House

This is what I packed. One 34.5 lb. checked bag and a backpack and purse which were God knows how heavy and killing me trying to get through customs today.
